We are two,

Encouraged by a relentless energy, one of our dancing bodies began at the tender age of 3.

The other began by twirling their way through swampy northern forests.

Together we dance, create, perform, collaborate and teach.

The new no longer exists, that wild, untamed thing untouched by past practicing bodies. That naïve imagination that one’s singular idea is an innovation. What is left is an amorphous, swirling rather than linear; mixture of desires and archives waiting for inventive reconfigurations. Or at least that's one way of looking at it..

We have never practiced in a linear direction, its always been about the negotiating of our differing backgrounds and the immediacy of our current situation, and that situation has a tendency to change. There have been times of plenty and there have been moments where we have been astounded by the depths we must go to see a project through. So we take each one as it is, knowing that the politics around us, cultural or otherwise can be complex. We have this silly belief that dance's way of observing and commenting on life is important.
And after thirty plus years our interests are still vast and our desire to remain undefined holds true. Creating dance just for the sheer useless beauty of it all.
